Registration
If a student wants to pursue his education at The Learning School, the administration requests that their parents visit the campus. Parents first get an admission form from the school's office and pay a non-refundable registration fee of one hundred rupees. The applicants are later requested to fill out the form on campus. Upon submitting this form, they are given a date and time for their children to appear. The student arrives for an interview and an assessment test on this date. If the student has the potential and passes out, TLS feels proud to have him on campus. The school's team and the teachers give their best efforts to galvanize the mind of this young soul so that he not only brightens his future but also turns out to be an asset to society.
Announcement of results
The school's staff updates the parents with the interview results and the assessment test. If the student gets through these stages, the school's accountant issues a fee voucher to the parents. The one-month tuition fee is to be paid within a stipulated period specified by the accountant. After the admission, the parents are to submit the following documents:
- Admission fee receipt
- Original School Leaving Certificate of the previous school (if applicable)
- The security deposit receipt
- A copy of the receipt of paid Admission Fee voucher,
- Two passport-size photographs of the candidate,
- Photocopy of the birth certificate
- All information parents provide should be correct, and the specified dates should pay the fee. Failure to do so results in the cancellation of admission.
Grooming
Uniforms must be clean and neatly pressed, and black shoes cleaned regularly. Girls may not wear jewellery, including rings, chains, bracelets, and glass bangles, and parents should limit gold earrings to small studs. Multi-coloured ribbons, hair bands, and clips are prohibited. Boys must maintain short and tidy haircuts.
Discipline breaches during school hours or on school property that lead to suspension include bringing pets, electronics, video games, and cards to school, lending or borrowing money, keeping unauthorized medicines, betting, gambling, or lotteries, breaking bounds during school hours, failing to attend classes or activities without cause, and insubordination.
Offences leading to expulsion, a decision that rests with the Principal or Head of School, include cheating in exams; stealing; immoral acts; rudeness or physical assault towards staff; causing disaffection; carrying weapons; smoking or using drugs; disrespecting the school and its rules; distributing undesirable materials; poor academic performance; refusal to pay fees; and endangering others' safety.
Parents - Teachers Meeting
Parents-teacher meetings, held thrice a year, are obligatory for parents to attend because they give them an ideal opportunity to confer with their child's class teacher. However, parents who wish to meet a teacher at any other time may do so only by prior appointment made through the Head of School. If a teacher wishes to meet a parent, he sends intimation through the school homework diary or a letter. Meetings usually occur in the presence of the Principal, Vice Principal, or Section Coordinator.
Rules of Conduct
Punctuality is essential. Late arrivals must report to the duty teacher and may be sent home. Students may not leave school premises before the end of the day without prior permission from the Head of School. Correct uniforms must be worn at all times. Upon returning to school, an absent student must bring a parent-signed note stating the dates and reason for the absence, along with the student's name and class. A medical certificate must accompany the note if a test or exam is missed due to illness.
Causing physical injury or using offensive language is unacceptable and may result in suspension. It's vital that respect for school property and others' belongings is taught from early childhood, and parents will bear the cost of any deliberate damage caused by their children.
Students must adhere to these classroom rules, which are based on courtesy, common sense, and consideration for others. Punctuality and preparedness are key-arrive on time and be ready for each class. Enter the classroom only at the teacher's discretion, and obey the teacher's instructions. Do not interfere with others' learning by engaging in offensive behaviour or using abusive language. Refrain from chewing gum, eating, or drinking in class. Leave the room clean and tidy and do not depart until directed by the teacher.
Assessment / Interview
- An informal individual assessment test is administered to the child for Nursery class.
- K.G to Class 12
- Applicants undertake a written test in Core Subjects.
