The Learning School & College (TLSC) celebrated its 1st Decade of Excellence Review on 8th April 2012. A dream visualized in 2002 has now grown into a massive tree, which is now spreading its sweet and delicate shade of scholastic fruitfulness in the academically desolate city of Kot Radha Kishen. To celebrate its 10 years of excellence, TLSC arranged a 7 days series of functions held from 2nd to 8th April 2012 in which sports competition, Art competition, Quiz competition, Junior Section Annual day, Senior Section Annual day, Middle Section Annual Day and finally the Mega celebration were arranged.

Mr. Arno Keller, former Resident Representative, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, Pakistan Office shared his excitement that he was astonished to see such a developed campus in just within ten years, considering it a miracle in such a far-off area. He said that he considers Germany and Pakistan both his homes so he is happy to see that TLSC is successfully spreading awareness in his second home. Mr. Arno Keller and his wife Rita Keller came from Germany especially to attend 1st Decade celebrations of TLSC.

Dr. Noor Ahmad Akhtar, Chairman, Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust (KDT) shared his thoughts on the Role of KDT members, TLSC Staff and Friends of TLSC in development of The Learning School. It, of course, gave a food for thought to the audience.

Mr. Muhammad Anwar, General Secretary, KDT presented the brief progress report of last ten years about KDT & TLSC and told that assets of the Trust were more than thirty million Pak Rupees. Support of Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Trust for Voluntary Organizations, Black box sounds, Dr. Tariq Aziz and other well-wishers was much appreciated. Without their support, it would not have been possible to achieve the objectives.

At the same time, Mr. Anwar shared the next decade’s plans with everyone which included the up gradation of The Learning School & College to a University level; the prospectus Teachers Resource Centre to be established to cater the area of Lahore Division and the formation of a Female Industrial Home to generate income for local women in order to empower them.

Ms Asma Kiran Pervez, Principal TLSC highlighted the efforts of the school that makes it different from other schools, and how within ten years the inclined progress of the school clearly proved that it was work of a hard-working team.

Other speakers who were present in the event were Roa Mazhar Hayat, Member National Assembly; Mr Malik Akhtar Hussain Naul, Member Punjab Assembly; Mrs Rahat Ajmal, Member Punjab Assembly; Mr Saeed Akhtar Ansari, Director General Consumer Rights Council of Punjab (former District Coordination Officer Kasur); Ms Naeed Gul Baloch, Director Water and Sanitation Authority (former Deputy Secretary Punjab Education Department); Mr Tauseeq Haider, TV personality; Mr Irfan Ahmed Urfi, Drama Writer; Members of KDT, among other prominent personalities.

Students of TLSC performed several plays that were much appreciated by more than two thousand citizens who had witnessed the growth of The Learning School And College through the decade.

Earlier, the following Inter School Competition were arranged at TLSC Campus where Sardar Tufail Ahmed Khan, former Member National Assembly; Malik Akhtar Hussain Naul, Member Punjab Assembly; Ms Madiah Tahir Shah, Deputy Revenue Officer, Kot Radha Kishen Tehsil; Mr Anees Qureshi (local political leader) and Ms Nasira Mayo were the Chief Guests.
