Chairman KDT - Dr Noor Ahmed Akhtar

Welcome to our website. Success as blessed to me and my friends motivated us to find some ways and means to express our gratitude to Allah. In this process, we all agreed to the fact that education is the key to the progress of mankind and we were moved by the dearth of quality Educational Institutions in our ancestral district – Kasur. For addressing this situation, Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust was established in 2002 as a voluntary social program which is NOT FOR PROFIT.

All incomes of the Trust are mandated and pumped back into the cause of education. The Trust enjoys the support of many distinguished and notable people (whose views are available on this website). Promptly after the creation of the Trust, work on its first project- The Learning School started in February 2002 and was completed in a record period of two months i.e. in April the same year. Right from the planning stage The Learning School is ordained to play the role of The Premier Educational institution in the area and has been equipped with all requisites for delivering the mandate.

We demonstrate our commitment to “Learning” by working as a community and striving for continuous improvement in all that we promise by making efforts to achieve common goals and honoring everyone's views. We believe that each child can succeed by experiencing quality in a broad and challenging curriculum. Therefore an enriching programme of extra-curricular activities and visits, a stimulating learning environment, a rich up to date range of learning resources, innovative teaching, an investigative approach to learning and learning partnerships between school, home, and the community are important components of our system of imparting education. Over the next few years, we wish to carry this cause further as the trust envisages to upgrade “The Learning School” to the level of the university. This will not only help in spreading the light of knowledge but also provide a chance for the less-privileged people of this area to get quality education virtually free of cost.

Members of Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust

In 2002 a group of citizens of Kot Radha Kishen declared: enough is enough. They decided that they will no longer have their children devoid of quality choices. They decided that the children of Kot Radha Kishen and surrounding villages also deserve the best. They decided. They decided that it was no longer acceptable that children did not have the choice to learn to maximum utilize their potential.

In other words, the citizens, decided to become responsible citizens. To become the change for their area that they had been hoping for. The Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust established in 2002, is an amalgam of volunteers. The very first project of KDT is the Learning School which has since 2002 continued to grow and blossom.

Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust

Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust (KDT) is a non-profit, non-government, non-political, social, educational, and cultural organization, which was established in January 2002. The founders were a group of concerned citizens who aimed to make maximum use of the indigenous resources available for the development of the community by providing quality education to the people at affordable cost. KDT is registered under The Trust Act of 1882.

The trust works for the protection of human rights, specially focusing on the rights of women, children and the consumers, the development of human resources, the alleviation of poverty, and the rural development. Also, KDT aims to take concrete steps for the prevention of drug abuse, increase in number of facilities in the health sector, and protection of the Socio-cultural and physical environment surrounding us.

General Secretary KDT - Muhammad Anwar

The founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1947 highlighting the significance of education had said: “ the importance of education and the type of education cannot be over-emphasized…there is no doubt that the future of our State will and must greatly depend upon the type of education we give to our children, and the way in which we bring them up as future citizens of Pakistan… we should not forget that we have to compete with the world which is moving very fast in this direction.”The article 37 of the Constitution of Pakistan also says that the State shall;

  • promote; with special care, the educational and economic interests of backward classes or areas;
  • remove illiteracy and provide free and compulsory secondary education within the minimum possible period.

Despite these loud and clear messages we have failed to offer good quality education at an affordable price to every child in the country. Especially our rural population remains at the ignored end. Leaving the majority at mercy of circumstances is not prudent when education is the key factor that determines the direction of a nation and the educated citizens help shape the future.

The Learning School established by Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust conveys two messages. First; the citizens' if inspired can do it on their own and the second: with modest efforts, vibrant communities can bridge the gap instead of only looking towards the government for charity. The Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust has internalized these messages and today the Learning School exists to impart quality education in a less developed area inhabited by poor and middle class. As a private not for profit educational institution, it offers modern knowledge and skills in the best learning environment at an affordable price by utilizing the services of trained and committed teachers.

Besides its involving academic environment the school is inculcating values of peace, tolerance, and democracy through its extracurricular activities. Some of these activities involve the community as well. Time will tell that it was a wise investment in a dream for the better future of Pakistan and for a vibrant and prosperous nation.

We invite caring citizens' to be part of this extremely important work by donating to help educate those who will be our future.
