Good Governance Seminar 25 Oct 03

Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust arranged a public forum in collaboration with Centre fo Civic Education on "Good Governance" (Waste Management unhygienic sewerage and sanitary conditions) at The Learning School, Kot Radha Kishen on 25th December 2003. The forum focused at the role of provincial legislators, local government, and social organizations for the development needs of its citizens.

We Want Peace - TLS 1st Annual Day - 20 April 2003

In 2003, the first academic year of The Learning School had passed successfully. The administration, thus, planned a wonderful event to celebrate this day. Since they had planned to increase the number of students, they also had to manage an increase in the number of class rooms. The event also marked a turning point in the structure of the academic block, as the foundations of new classrooms were laid.

On 20 April 2003,The Learning School arranged its first annual day with the theme "We want Peace". Mian Imran Masood, Minister of Education, Punjab, and Mr Arno Keller, Resident Director, Friedrich Naumann Foundation were the Chief Guests.

Child Rights Seminar in Chunian

On 30 March 2003, Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust arranged a Seminar on Child Rights at Chunian (District Kasur) with the aim to aware the citizens about the Child Rights and special focus on girls education in rural as well as semi-rural areas.

About 400 citizens attended the seminar with speakers including Naib District Nazim, Tehsil Chunian Nazim and Chairman KDT Dr. Noor Ahmed Akhtar highlited the important of education for children. After the seminar in question-answer session, KDT highlighted the efforts on education by The Learning School, in the area.

TLS Started Classes on 8th April 2002

The Learning School started its classes on 8th April 2002. The first phase of the school campus (8,500 sq ft) comprising 12 class rooms, corridor and verandah was completed just within two months. The foundation laying work started in the 3rd week of February.

The school is situated 200 meters away from the main road. The landlords in the surroundings co-operated a lot and made their land available for a 20 feet wide link road. Eid holidays, rain, theft or electricity wire and such hurdles came in the way during last two months. One thing, which never lacked in the process, was the will to achieve the objective – completion of first phase and start of classes on 8th April 2002.

First step towards a wonderful institution

More than 500 Citizens get together in the green fields of Kot Radha Kishen on 5th February 2002 and earth digging ceremony was held for a unique school that with the aim to provide quality education on the rural and semi-rural area children on a non-profit basis. Hazrat Mian Noor Muhammad Nusrat Noshahi of Sharqpur Sharif and Dr. Farooq Ahmed Kanwar were honored to dig first. Mr Arif Khan, Architect explains the designing of the school. Dr. Noor Ahmed Akhtar explained to the citizens that under the platform of Kot Radha Kishen Development Trust, a school in the name of The Learning School will be established within two months and classes will be started in April 2002 as the education year starts in April. The estimates on the campus were considered seven million Pak Rupees at the initial stage.
